Aanvullende informatie

Swaziland's 1968 independence from Britain prompted a flurry of pattern coinage as the new kingdom established its monetary identity, with several denominations and compositions tested before the circulating series was finalized. The 50 shilling denomination never entered circulation — the shilling-based system itself was abandoned in favor of the lilangeni in 1974, making any shilling-denominated pattern a relic of a currency that functionally died before it properly began.
