Commenti	The "Without islands" designation refers to an early printing state in which the map of Tanzania omitted the offshore islands of Zanzibar and Pemba — a politically sensitive oversight given that Tanzania is itself a union of the mainland (Tanganyika) and Zanzibar, formalized in 1964. The error was corrected in subsequent printings, making this earlier version the scarcer of the two states. De La Rue produced multiple Tanzanian series through this period, and plate corrections of this kind were not always announced publicly.
