正面描述 A portrait vignette of David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister, occupies the right portion of the face, with the library at kibbutz Sde Boker rendered in the background. The denomination "Fifty Sheqalim" and the issuer inscription "Bank of Israel" appear in Hebrew, accompanied by the date in both Hebrew calendar notation and the Gregorian year 1978. The numeral 50 is printed in the lower left, framed by decorative guilloche underprint work.

备注

This note belongs to the third Israeli pound-to-sheqel transitional series, issued just before the sheqel replaced the pound in 1980 — meaning these circulated for a very short window before becoming obsolete. Israel's inflation during the late 1970s was already severe enough that a 50-sheqalim note would lose meaningful purchasing power within months of issue.

Enschedé's involvement is unsurprising; the Haarlem firm printed Israeli notes across multiple series during this period. The watermark remains the sole security feature, modest by the standards of what Enschedé was capable of producing at the time.
