| Reverse description | Central depiction of the Milolua, a traditional Tongan ceremonial kava-making dance performed exclusively by daughters of the nobility in honour of the sovereign. The design commemorates the performance of this rite by Her Royal Highness Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Tuku'aho, daughter of King Tupou VI. The denomination 50 SENITI appears in the lower field, with the legend MILOLUA arcing above the central motif. |

| Additional information |
Tupou VI acceded to the throne in March 2012 following the death of his brother George Tupou V, making this the first circulating coinage series to carry his effigy. Tonga's monetary system was decimalised in 1967, replacing the traditional pound-based system — the seniti denomination has existed in its current form since that reform.
