正面描述 Central device depicts a Great Argus Pheasant (Argusianus argus) displayed in full frontal posture with wings dramatically spread and elaborately feathered tail fanned outward in a near-circular form, rendered in high relief with meticulous detail to the ocellated plumage. The bird stands with talons gripping the lower field, its head turned slightly to one side. The overall composition fills the oval flan entirely, with no surrounding legend or inscription, consistent with the nature of a matrix or die trial piece. The design is executed in a highly plastic, sculptural style characteristic of Royal Mint trial workmanship of the period.

附加信息

Bank Negara Malaysia was established only in 1959, and the 1967 coinage series represented the first truly independent Malaysian issue after the dissolution of the Board of Commissioners of Currency Malaya and British Borneo. Matrix and die trials for this series were produced to test relief depth and planchet flow before authorizing full production runs — surviving examples in silver are almost certainly struck on off-specification or test planchets rather than the cupro-nickel used for circulation. The composition here almost certainly reflects that experimental stage rather than a minting error in the conventional sense.
