| Reverse description | The reverse presents a finely detailed three-quarter facing portrait bust of Sigmund Freud occupying the centre of the silver-toned inner disc, with his name inscribed 'SIGMUND FREUD' in the left field. To the upper left, in the Jugendstil manner of Gustav Klimt, a stylised reclining female figure evoking themes of dreams and the unconscious is depicted in low relief. The dates '1900' and '2000' appear at upper right, commemorating the centenary of Freud's landmark publication. The outer aluminium bronze ring bears the legend 'DIE TRAUMDEUTUNG' along the right arc, rendered in raised lettering. |
