| Obverse description | The central field displays the large denomination numeral '50' above the word 'SCHILLING' in bold relief, surrounded by a ring of nine heraldic shields representing the coats of arms of the nine Austrian federal states arranged in a circular pattern. At the top of the ring, the Austrian federal eagle shield is prominently positioned. The circular legend 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' runs along the periphery, punctuated by raised dots as separators. The overall design, engraved by Edwin Grienauer, reflects a strong heraldic tradition characteristic of mid-twentieth-century Austrian commemorative coinage. |
