| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre features the numeral '50' prominently in the central field, surrounded by a stylised octagonal frame bearing the nine heraldic shields of the Austrian federal provinces arranged around the perimeter. The aluminium bronze outer ring carries the legend 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' along the upper arc and 'SCHILLING' along the lower arc, with the engraver's initial 'H' flanking the lower inscription.
