| Obverse description | Intaglio-engraved front-facing portrait bust of Austrian Baroque architect Jakob Prandtauer (1658–1726) occupies the right portion of the note, set against an elaborate guilloche underprint with intricate Baroque scrollwork framing the central vignette. The denomination "Fünfzig Schilling" is rendered in large script lettering at centre, above the issuer inscription and date, with two facsimile signatures below for the Generalrat, Präsident, and Generaldirektor. The Austrian imperial eagle watermark area is visible at left, with a repeating numeral "50" micropattern forming the background underprint throughout. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents an intaglio vignette of the Abbey of Melk (Stift Melk) perched above the Danube in the Wachau valley, rendered in fine line engraving with detailed architectural and landscape work. In the foreground to the right, a young woman in traditional Austrian dress carries a basket on her shoulder, walking toward the right. The composition is framed by Baroque decorative borders consistent with the obverse design, with the denomination numeral "50" and lettering set within the lower portion of the note. |
