Obverse description Youthful bare-headed effigy of King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) facing left, depicted in military dress uniform adorned with medals and decorations. The portrait is rendered in moderate relief against a flat field, with fine detail in the hair and ceremonial attire. A beaded inner border frames the design. The Thai-script legend curves along the left and right periphery, identifying the monarch by name and reign number.

Reverse description Central device depicts the Garuda, the mythical divine bird and royal emblem of Thailand, shown full-faced with wings spread wide and talons grasping, rendered in bold relief. To the left and right of the Garuda's lower body appears the denomination in Thai numerals and script (๕๐ สต.). The legend รัฐบาลไทย (Thai Government) curves along the upper periphery in Thai script, while the Buddhist Era date พ.ศ.๒๔๘๙ is inscribed along the lower periphery. A beaded border encircles the entire design.
