背面描述 The central vignette, rendered in detailed engraved style, presents a rural Indonesian landscape with traditional thatched-roof stilt houses amid tall palm trees and a mountainous background. Ornamental borders incorporating traditional Indonesian decorative patterns frame the composition, with the denomination numeral 50 repeated in the upper-left and lower-right corners. The lower margin carries a multi-line anti-counterfeiting legal notice in Indonesian, while a large stylized geometric ornament in the regional decorative tradition occupies the right portion of the note.
背面铭文 50 M. SADJIROEN DEL. PT. PERTJETAKAN KEBAJORAN IMP.

备注

The 1958 series was among the first groups of Indonesian banknotes designed and printed entirely domestically, without the involvement of European security printers that had dominated earlier issues. Percetakan Kebayoran, the state printing works established in the Kebayoran Baru district of South Jakarta, handled the full run — a deliberate assertion of technical self-sufficiency during Sukarno's guided democracy period, when reducing foreign dependencies in government infrastructure carried real political weight.

The crediting of named Indonesian designers — Junalies on the obverse, Sadjiroen on the reverse — is worth noting. Such attribution was uncommon for the period and reflects an intentional effort to document domestic authorship of the national currency.
