Obverse description At center, the Lion Capital of Ashoka (the State Emblem of India) is depicted in fine relief, showing three lions atop an abacus with the Dharma Chakra wheel. Below the emblem, the motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate) is inscribed in Devanagari script. The denomination '50' appears prominently in large numerals in the lower field, flanked by the word 'RUPEES' along the right arc in Latin script and 'भारत' and '50 रुपये' along the left arc in Devanagari script. The word 'INDIA' arcs along the upper right periphery in Latin script.
