Issued to commemorate the 450th anniversary of St. Xavier's College in Kathmandu, one of the oldest Jesuit educational institutions in South Asia. The Jesuits established their presence in Nepal under a special arrangement, as the country had historically been closed to foreign missionaries — making the college's long survival a quiet exception to that rule.
