正面描述 The reverse die serves as the obverse for this medal-aligned issue, depicting a stylised yantra or mandala-inspired geometric framework at centre, subdivided into compartments bearing the royal legend in Devanagari script. Four auspicious symbols — a sun wheel, a conch shell, a lotus blossom, and a ceremonial staff — occupy the cardinal recesses of the design. The Bikram Sambat date 2057 appears in the lower compartments, and the honorific inscription referencing King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev fills the central field. A border of raised beads encircles the entire composition.

附加信息

Nepal's 2000 proof program coincided with the 2544th anniversary of Buddha's birth under the Buddhist calendar, prompting the Nepal Rastra Bank to issue several commemorative denominations simultaneously. The Nordic gold composition — an aluminum-bronze alloy developed by Nordic Minting in Finland and widely adopted for commemorative and circulating coinage from the 1990s onward — was an unusual choice for a proof issue, which more typically appears in silver or gold.

Birendra Bir Bikram, the reigning monarch at time of issue, was killed the following year in the royal massacre of June 2001.
