| Reverse description | The reverse is oriented for vertical reading and carries the principal vignette of a Vadiga Patuna low-country dancer in traditional costume, accompanied to the left by a Yakbera drummer playing his ceremonial drum. The guard-stone of the Punkalasa — the pot of plenty, a classical symbol of prosperity — appears at the upper right, while a Liya Vela stylized floral guilloche motif fills the decorative underprint across the field. The inscription CENTRAL BANK OF SRI LANKA and FIFTY RUPEES is repeated in the relevant scripts. |
