Pick 30 spans a politically turbulent window — it was introduced under Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's government and continued through the early years of Zia ul-Haq's military rule following the July 1977 coup. The note's date range thus bridges two entirely different constitutional orders, which is unusual for a single Pick number in Pakistani issues.
Pakistan Security Printing Corporation handled both design and production domestically, a deliberate policy shift away from the foreign contract printers — Thomas De La Rue among them — that had supplied Pakistani currency in earlier decades.
