| Obverse description | Printed in blue, light blue, and orange tones, the obverse carries a vignette of King Parakramabahu to the right, rendered in intaglio against a fine guilloche underprint. The denomination numeral '50' appears in the upper corners, with the bank title in Sinhala script across the top and the value inscription 'FIFTY RUPEES' along the lower margin in English and Tamil.
