| 正面描述 | Right-facing draped bust of King Birendra Bir Bikram wearing a traditional plumed crown adorned with jewelled ornaments, with eyeglasses and an ornate collar visible at the truncation. Issued as part of Nepal's 1974 Wildlife Conservation series, this piece was struck to coincide with growing international pressure on Himalayan nations to address habitat destruction following the 1973 Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. Nepal was among the earliest Asian signatories engaged with CITES, and the series served a dual purpose: foreign exchange generation through collector sales and diplomatic signaling to Western conservation bodies. The proof striking was handled to export standards, with the bulk of these pieces sold abroad rather than circulated domestically.
