Obverse description At the centre of the obverse, the Russian State Emblem — a double-headed eagle with wings displayed — is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, enclosed within a fine beaded inner circle. The denomination ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ (Fifty Roubles) is inscribed along the upper arc in bold Cyrillic lettering, while БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) appears along the lower arc. Below the eagle, the date 2002 Г. is prominently struck, flanked to the left by the gold fineness inscription AU 900 and to the right by the fine gold weight 7.78, with the Saint Petersburg Mint monogram (СПМД) positioned at the lower right within the beaded border.
