The Urals Cossack Army established its own monetary authority in 1918 as Bolshevik forces pressed against the Ural River frontier. This note circulated within a territory that was genuinely contested — the Ural Cossacks held out against Soviet control longer than almost any other White-aligned force in the region, not capitulating until early 1920.
The S926A designation distinguishes it from related issues in the same series. These emergency emissions were produced under severe resource constraints, and paper quality varied considerably across print runs.
