| Obverse description | Central device features the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia, displayed with wings spread, set within a dotted inner border against a deeply mirrored proof field. The denomination '50' appears along the left rim and 'РУБЛЕЙ' (Roubles) arcs across the upper field, with the date '1997г.' along the right. The legend 'БАНК РОССИИ' (Bank of Russia) curves along the lower field. Below the eagle, between its talons, the mint mark of the Saint Petersburg Mint (ЛМД) is struck, flanked by the fineness notation 'Au 900' at left and the pure gold weight '7.78' at right. Decorative square ornamental devices appear at the three and nine o'clock positions within the inner border. |
