Obverse description Central device features the Russian State Emblem, a double-headed eagle with wings displayed, set against a mirror-polished field within a beaded inner circle. The upper legend ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ (Fifty Roubles) arcs above the eagle in bold Cyrillic characters, while БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) curves along the lower portion. The date 2004 Г. appears in the exergue, flanked by the metallic fineness designation АU 900 to the left and the mint mark ММД with the weight 7.78 to the right, all separated by raised dots.
