Obverse description At the centre of the obverse, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia is depicted with wings lowered, set within a beaded inner circle. The upper legend reads «ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ» (Fifty Roubles) and the lower legend bears the year of issue «2003», both arranged along the outer rim. To the left of the eagle, the metallic designation and fineness «Au 999» are inscribed in the field, while to the right the fine metal content «7,78» and the Moscow Mint monogram «ММД» appear. The legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (Bank of Russia) arcs beneath the eagle in a semicircular arrangement within the central motif.
