Obverse description At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin, rendered in a stylised heraldic manner. To the lower left of the eagle, the metallic composition mark and fineness designation appear in Latin characters; at lower centre, the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД); to the lower right, the fine gold content. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, and the peripheral legend, divided between upper and lower arcs, reads '50 РУБЛЕЙ 1993 г.' above and 'БАНК РОССИИ' below.
