| Obverse description | At center, the two-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin, set within a beaded circle. The curved legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (Bank of Russia) arcs below the eagle within the circle. Along the upper rim runs the denomination legend «ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ» (Fifty Roubles), while the date «1999» appears along the lower rim. To the left of the eagle in the field are the metal designation and fineness (Au 999), and to the right the fine metal content (7.78 g) and the Moscow Mint monogram ММД. |
