Comments

The North Caucasian Emirate attribution in the trade name is misleading — this note was issued by the Bolshevik regional authority, the Kraevoy Ispolnitelny Komitet, not by Uzun Haji's short-lived emirate, which issued no paper currency of its own. The confusion persists in catalog references and auction descriptions alike.

The North Caucasus in 1919 was contested by the Volunteer Army, various mountain republic governments, and Soviet organs simultaneously, which meant notes like this circulated in a fractured, often violent monetary environment where acceptance was never guaranteed and issuers changed within weeks.
