Obverse description At center, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin occupies the field, set within a beaded inner circle. The curved legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) arcs below the eagle within the circle. Along the outer rim, the upper legend reads «ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ» (FIFTY ROUBLES) and the date «1999» appears at the bottom. To the left of the eagle, the metal designation and fineness «Au 900» are inscribed, while to the right the fine metal content «7,78» and the Saint Petersburg Mint mark «СПМД» are noted.
