背面描述 Two reindeer are depicted in a winter landscape against a frosted field: a large stag stands prominently to the right with full antlers raised, while a second smaller deer reclines to the left, both surrounded by snow-covered spruce trees. A decorative band of traditional Karelian folk geometric ornament runs along the upper portion of the hexagonal flan. The large numeral 50 occupies the upper left field, accompanied by the Cyrillic denomination legend РУБЛЕЙ to its right, the date 2021 in the central lower field, and the engraver's initials ВБ (Vitaly Bakhtinov) in the lower right field.

附加信息

Part of Russia's long-running "Regions of the Russian Federation" series, this issue commemorates the Republic of Karelia, a federal subject bordering Finland whose territorial status has been politically freighted since the Winter War of 1939–40, when Finland ceded significant portions of historical Karelia to the Soviet Union. The Finnish name on this coin — Karjalan Tasavalta — reflects that contested heritage.

Silver-plated copper-nickel was adopted for these regional 50-rouble pieces largely as a cost measure following the 2014 sanctions and ruble collapse, which made silver bullion issues economically untenable for mass commemorative production.
