| Reverse description | The reverse displays a finely detailed icon of the Minsk Mother of God (Минская икона Божией Матери), depicting the Virgin Mary in a frontal hieratic pose, crowned and robed, holding the Christ Child on her left arm. The Christ Child is shown in three-quarter view holding an orb, with abbreviated Christological inscriptions IC XC flanking the figure in the upper field. The entire composition is framed by an intricate gilded foliate and geometric diaper pattern border consistent with the Byzantine iconographic tradition. The inscription МІНСКАЯ appears on a cartouche or tablet at the lower margin of the reverse field. |
