Part of the Soviet WWII commemorative series issued in the early 1990s as the USSR collapsed, this piece marks the M3 Lee's role under Lend-Lease, through which the United States supplied the Red Army with over 1,300 of the type between 1942 and 1943. Soviet tankers were largely unenthusiastic — the M3's high silhouette and riveted construction made it a liability on the Eastern Front, and crews nicknamed it "a grave for seven brothers."
