Opmerkingen

Belarus redenominated its currency in July 2016, replacing the old ruble series at a rate of 10,000 to 1 — the third such redenomination since independence, a measure of how thoroughly hyperinflation had eroded the previous issues. This 50-ruble note belongs to that new series, the first Belarusian issue to carry a shared printing credit between De La Rue in London and Goznak in Moscow, an unusual arrangement that reflects both security requirements and the country's economic orientation toward Russia at the time.

Nekrasova's design work across the series was recognized domestically, though the security specification on this denomination is notably modest — watermark and thread only, without the optically variable elements found on higher values.
