| Uwagi |
Georgia's short-lived independent republic — established after the collapse of the Russian Empire and Transcaucasian Federation — issued this note under the supervision of the Georgian National Bank, which had been formally constituted only in 1919 itself. The entire paper currency program was a rushed exercise: the republic was navigating simultaneous military pressure from Denikin's Volunteer Army to the north and Bolshevik encroachment, and monetary infrastructure was being built essentially from scratch.
Georgian independence ended in February 1921 when the Red Army crossed the border. Notes of this series had an effective circulation window of under two years.
