Opmerkingen

Part of Bank Negara Malaysia's 2019 commemorative polymer series, this 50 Ringgit note was issued specifically to mark the 60th anniversary of Bako National Park — Malaysia's oldest national park, established in 1957 in Sarawak. The choice of polymer substrate was deliberate: conventional cotton-fiber notes had proven poorly suited to Sarawak's humidity during extended circulation in Borneo's interior.

Printed by Note Printing Australia, the note incorporates a transparent window element — a feature made possible precisely because of the polymer base. Commemoratives in this series were issued in limited quantities through Bank Negara's numismatic program rather than general circulation channels.
