50 Riksdaler

Uplands Enskilda Bank was one of Sweden's private enskilda banks, which from 1831 operated under a system permitting note issuance against a metallic reserve — but with the issuing bank's shareholders carrying personal unlimited liability for redemption. That liability structure gave the public real confidence in these notes, and Uplands paper generally circulated without incident across Uppsala County and beyond.

The Riksdaler denomination was obsolete within three years of this note's issue date. Sweden's currency reform of 1873 abolished the Riksdaler and replaced it with the Krona on a decimal basis, after which all enskilda bank notes were progressively called in. Survivors at this denomination are not common.
