Obverse description Green note with an intricate guilloche underprint across the entire field. A portrait vignette of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi in Western dress appears at the right, within an ornate frame. The denomination in Persian script (پنجاه ریال) is inscribed centrally, with the bank name in Persian along the top border and serial numbers in red at the upper and lower margins.

Reverse description Printed in green, the reverse centres on a detailed engraved vignette of the ruins of Persepolis, the ancient Achaemenid ceremonial capital, with columned halls and carved reliefs rendered in fine intaglio line work. The English inscription BANK MELLI IRAN runs across the top border, and RIALS 50 appears along the lower margin beneath a Persian legend. A large unprinted circular watermark zone is visible to the right of the central vignette, flanked by ornamental guilloche panels.
