| Beschrijving keerzijde | Identical design to the obverse: a spread-winged Reichsadler facing left, perched atop a circular wreath containing a swastika, struck in bold relief with finely detailed plumage. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs around the upper field in Fraktur blackletter script, and the date 1941 is inscribed below the central device. A beaded inner border encircles the composition, consistent with the medal alignment of this pattern piece. |

Germany experimented with aluminium coinage for the 50 Reichspfennig denomination during the war years as nickel and other base metals were increasingly diverted to armaments production. This 1941 piece is a pattern — it never entered circulation — and survives in very small numbers, almost certainly struck at the Berlin Reichsmünze for internal evaluation.
The shift toward aluminium was ultimately realized in other denominations, but the 50 Pfennig in this metal was abandoned before issue.
