| Obverse description | The obverse features the South African coat of arms centrally positioned in the field, depicting a secretary bird with outstretched wings above a shield bearing the figures of the Khoisan people, flanked by wheat stalks and an elephant tusk on either side, with the national motto '!KE E: /XARRA //KE' inscribed on the ribbon below. The date '2019' is divided across the lower field, flanking the coat of arms. Surrounding the central device, the name of the country is rendered in all eleven official languages of South Africa, arranged in a continuous circular legend around the periphery.
