| Beschrijving keerzijde | The Sasol synthetic fuel complex rendered in intaglio at center, with its industrial towers and structures silhouetted against a multicolor guilloche background. Overlying the refinery vignette are large atomic orbital symbols rendered in fine-line engraving, evoking South Africa's energy and industrial achievements. The large numeral '50' appears at center-right, with a color-shifting optically variable device numeral at lower right. |

| Opmerkingen |
Pick 130 spans a signature transition: Tito Mboweni's term as Governor ended in 2009, replaced by Gill Marcus, making notes from this period exist in two distinct signature varieties that catalogers sometimes conflate under a single Pick number. The Mboweni-signed examples are the more common of the two.
This issue belongs to the fourth definitive series, introduced following the phasing out of the third series notes — a changeover driven partly by escalating counterfeiting of the older design rather than any scheduled replacement cycle.
