| 正面描述 | A finely detailed forepart of a Common Eland (Taurotragus oryx) rendered in high relief, facing left, with its distinctive spiral horns prominently displayed against a rocky African landscape background. The legend SOUTH AFRICA arcs along the upper field in bold stylised lettering, while the date 2007 appears in the lower field. The engraver's initials AM are incused at the bottom of the field. The composition is naturalistically executed in the characteristic Natura series artistic style, with contrasting mirror proof fields and frosted devices. |

The Natura series launched in 1994 as South Africa's fine gold bullion program aimed at the collector market, distinguishing itself from the Krugerrand by using .9999 purity rather than the Krugerrand's .9167 and by rotating wildlife subjects annually rather than fixing a single design. The Eland, southern Africa's largest antelope, anchored the 2007 release. Annual mintages for Natura halves have historically been low — typically in the low thousands — making later-date examples considerably harder to source than the flagship one-ounce issues.
