Obverse description Central field features the Albanian state emblem of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania: a double-headed eagle displayed, encircled by a wreath of wheat stalks. A five-pointed star surmounts the eagle at the top, and a ribbon inscribed '24 MAJ 1944' — commemorating the date of the first Anti-Fascist National Liberation Congress — appears at the base of the emblem. The legend 'SHQIPERI' arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, with two small ornamental rosettes flanking the lower field. The mint year '1988' is inscribed in the lower exergue.

Reverse description The denomination numeral '50' is prominently displayed in large raised figures at the centre of the field, with the legend 'QINDARKA' inscribed immediately below in bold Latin lettering. An open wreath of olive or wheat branches frames the central design on the left and right, meeting at the base with a tied ribbon motif. A beaded inner border runs along the full circumference of the reverse, separating the design from the plain rim.
