Aanvullende informatie

Struck as a pattern essai for the Organisation of African Unity commemorative series, this copper piece was never intended for circulation — essais of this type were produced in small quantities for archival and approval purposes, submitted to issuing authorities before a final metallic composition was confirmed. The approved circulation strikes for this series were issued in silver and gold. The copper essai exists as a production-stage artifact, not a rejected design.
