Dramatic searchlight beams radiate upward and outward from behind the cathedral, evoking the celebratory atmosphere of VE Day on 8 May 1945. The commemorative inscription VE-DAY 75 YEARS arcs across the upper field, with the date 8/5/1945 inscribed below in the mid-field.
