The Latin motto DIRIGE DEUS GRESSUS MEOS (May God direct my steps) arcs around the upper field, divided by the central group. The denomination FIFTY POUNDS appears in bold relief within the lower exergue. A beaded border encircles the entire composition, and the engraver's monogram is visible on the exergual line. |
