Reverse description Three draped classical female figures — personifications of England, Scotland, and Ireland — stand in close embrace at centre, rendered in deeply struck high relief after William Wyon's celebrated design for the 1817 Three Graces pattern crown. The figure to the left rests her hand on a Union shield and stands beside an Irish harp; the central figure faces right; the rightmost figure stands beside a Scottish thistle. The engraver's signature 'W. WYON.' appears to the lower left field. The Latin legend 'FOEDUS INVIOLABILE' (meaning 'An Inviolable Bond') is divided across the field, flanking the group, within a beaded border.
