Additional information

Prince Henry — known publicly as Harry — was still a serving officer in the Blues and Royals when Alderney issued this piece in 2005, the year he completed officer training at Sandhurst. The timing placed it ahead of his first Afghanistan deployment by two years. At a kilogram of fine silver and 100mm across, these large-format crown-type issues from Alderney were produced in strictly limited quantities for the collector market, with the island's nominal issuing authority backed entirely by the Royal Mint under licensing arrangements.
