| 裏面の説明 | The reverse displays a central circular medallion depicting a stylised architectural archway, identified as a vaulted gateway reminiscent of historic Syrian Islamic architecture, rendered in relief with an inner domed structure. To the left of the central motif the numeral '50' appears in large Latin digits, accompanied by the currency code 'SYP' and the English legend 'FIFTY SYRIAN POUNDS' arcing along the lower periphery. To the right, the Eastern Arabic numeral '٥٠' is shown alongside the Arabic abbreviation 'ل.س'. The Arabic denomination 'خمسون ليرة سورية' (Fifty Syrian Pounds) arcs along the upper field. The design is framed by a reeded border. |

Syria resumed coin production in 2018 after years of near-total interruption caused by the civil war that began in 2011. Much of the country's minting infrastructure had been disrupted, and the economy had shifted heavily toward banknotes out of necessity. This coin belongs to a batch of issues released as the government sought to reassert administrative normalcy in territories it had reclaimed.
KM#133 is among the higher-denomination circulating coins in the post-conflict series, reflecting cumulative inflation that had rendered older lower-denomination pieces effectively worthless.
