| Opmerkingen |
Egypt's 50 Pound notes of this series carry the signature of Tarek Amer, who served as Central Bank Governor from 2015 until his abrupt resignation in August 2022 under considerable economic pressure — the pound had lost roughly half its value against the dollar on his watch. His name appearing on notes dated into 2023 reflects the lag between printing schedules and formal issue dates, not an anomaly in tenure.
The obverse features the Abu Haggag Mosque built atop the Luxor Temple complex, a layering of Islamic and Pharaonic architecture that has made it a recurring motif in Egyptian currency design. Cotton substrate throughout the series.
