| 正面描述 | The obverse carries a central vignette of a medieval Arabic astrolabe alongside a view of the Citadel of Aleppo, with Al-Na'urah al-Muhammadiyah — the largest of the Norias of Hama on the Orontes River — also represented. Antique vases appear as additional decorative elements within the design. Arabic inscriptions identifying the issuing authority and denomination are arranged across the face of the note. |

| 备注 |
Syria's Central Bank issued this 50 Pound note during a period when the official exchange rate had become largely fictional — the parallel market rate sat at multiples of the posted rate throughout the 1990s, eroding whatever purchasing power the denomination nominally carried. By 1998, 50 Pounds bought almost nothing in practical terms.
The print run of just over 12 million is modest for a mid-denomination note and consistent with the series' limited reliance on advanced security. A single watermark was the only anti-counterfeiting measure built into the paper — a specification that would look thin even by regional standards of that decade.
