Obverse description The national emblem of Bangladesh occupies the central field, depicting a water lily (shapla) in bloom rising above four stylised waves representing the rivers of Bangladesh. Four five-pointed stars are arranged in an arc above the flower, with a jute plant emerging between them at the apex. The emblem is flanked on each side by two symmetrical rice sheaves curving inward to form a wreath, all enclosed within a beaded border that runs along the coin's periphery.
