| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bimetallic coin with a brass centre set within a copper-nickel ring. The central field features a finely detailed depiction of a dove in full flight with wings spread wide, rendered in relief against a plain brass ground. The English legend CENTRAL BANK OF SUDAN arcs across the upper portion of the outer ring, while the corresponding Arabic inscription بنك السودان المركزي curves along the lower portion of the ring, both legends incuse into the silver-toned ring. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Sudan's 2006 bimetallic coinage was issued as the country's economy was straining under the weight of international sanctions and the ongoing Darfur conflict, which had drawn ICC scrutiny and complicated the Khartoum government's access to international financial systems. The Central Bank pressed ahead with a modernized circulating series partly to address chronic coin shortages that had plagued the previous issues.
The non-magnetic designation distinguishes this piece from a later variant — worth confirming with a magnet before cataloging, as the two are easily conflated.
